Preliminary Self-Assessment
Online Business Valuation Calculator
Four short steps covering your business profile, financials, performance, and risk. The result is an educational starting point with sourced market benchmarks — not an appraisal, broker opinion of value, or offer.
Your financial inputs are used to calculate the estimate in your browser and are not submitted to a broker or third party unless you separately choose to request professional help.

How this calculator works
It calculates a preliminary adjusted owner earnings figure from your profit and any adjustments you enter, then summarizes the value drivers and risk factors suggested by your answers. Confidence reflects how complete and consistent your inputs are — not how certain any sale price would be.

Valuation methodology & sources
This calculator separates three things: market benchmarks (published third-party statistics), preliminary estimates (a broad range, shown only where a source publishes a directional range on a compatible earnings basis), and professional valuations, which this tool does not provide.
Preliminary ranges are currently produced only for eCommerce (FE International's 2026 directional range of 2.0x–4.0x SDE for smaller owner-operated businesses) and qualifying profitable founder-led SaaS (Acquire.com's 2026 directional guidance of 3.0x–5.0x annual profit). Ranges are applied to your preliminary adjusted owner earnings without any upward or downward adjustment. Your risk answers shape the explanatory wording only.
How to read the benchmarks
- Marketplaces and brokers serve different business sizes and buyer pools, so their reported multiples should not be expected to match.
- Averages are not valuation formulas.
- Top-quartile results are not maximum values.
- Asking multiples differ from completed-sale multiples.
- SDE, adjusted earnings, EBITDA, profit, revenue, and ARR are not interchangeable.
